Tinder Free Passport Feature Travel the World to Find a Mate and Friends
At present, the world is facing a COVID-19 pandemic disaster caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). To reduce transmission and death rates, the world government is increasingly aggressively healing its citizens to remain at home.
What do you usually do to fight boredom? Playing a game? Continue to do homework? Ever thought of playing Tinder?
“But, Tinder is a matchmaking application?”
Not really, it depends on your motivation. Basically, the Tinder application is intended for those who want to find new chat buddies.
To expand your social reach during #DiRumahAja, the application from the United States (US) has decided to eliminate the ” Passport ” feature until April 30.
“We are very pleased to be able to create a Passport feature that allows Tinder users to get acquainted with anyone in the world. And now, the Passport feature can be accessed free of charge by all Tinder users,” said Elie Seidman, CEO of Tinder.
1. What is the Passport feature?
For users of the Tinder Gold and Plus features, maybe this feature is nothing new. Yes, in other words, actually ” Passport ” is Tinder’s paid feature.
As the name suggests, ” Passport ” allows Tinder users to “move” locations to other countries. Do you want to find a chat buddy in Tokyo? Can! From Jakarta to New York, of course, you can.
After entering the destination city, you can “fly” to the city and then start choosing who you want to chat with.
“We hope that Tinder users who are feeling anxious and thirsty to interact with others can use Passport to” move places “anywhere, get out of their quarantine,” added Seidman.
2. Increased “Swipe” activity
Step Tinder free ” Passport ” is not without obvious reasons. Because the non-gaming applications with the highest income in the world turned out to see an increase in the activity of Swipe Tinder users as long as they can’t leave the house.
Tinder explained that as of last Sunday (3/29), the activity of Tinder users increased to the highest peak in the history of the application with three billion swipes!
In addition to increased swipe activity, Tinder notes that users are increasingly interested in becoming Tinder Gold and Plus members to chat with people across the continent affected by COVID-19.
Of the 190 countries that use Tinder, Brazil (15 percent), India (25 percent), France (20 percent), and Germany (19%) are the four countries with the highest ” Passport ” feature users.

3. Solidarity in the middle of COVID-19 with Tinder
Seidman also pointed out that Tinder Gold and Plus users who used the ” Passport ” feature showed their solidarity and concern for people in COVID-19 affected countries in unique ways.
We are inspired by how users use the Tinder app to encourage each other, and we want to support social solidarity formed because of this,” said Seidman.
Due to not being able to go to these affected countries to encourage them directly, the ” Passport ” feature is automatically the answer. They swipe right of new people in these countries to provide moral support.
Tinder recorded the intensity of conversations among users around the world increased by up to 20 percent with the duration of conversations that participated increased by 25 percent. In Indonesia, Tinder noted that the intensity of conversations increased to 23 percent, while the duration of conversations became 19 percent longer than usual.
In other words, Tinder is a new option for those who want to meet new people without leaving the house.
4. Trends in Tinder
If you are ready to chat and give moral support to people in COVID-19 affected countries, then what you need now is a motivating factor so that they can swipe right and match with you.
Tinder notes the following things that are often used in bio and photos to increase your chances of making new friends:
- just stay at home,
- Take care of health,
- maintain a distance,
- How are you,
- wash your hands, and
- face emojis.
Remember that some people in the world complained about the scarcity of toilet paper in their countries? You can also include it in your bio to increase the likelihood of a match with someone.
When it was matched, Tinder noted that people were starting to become more sympathetic and begin their chat with,
“Are you alright?”
Better, right, than just saying “Hi”, “Hello”, or “Greetings”?
5. How to activate the Passport feature
Now, if you’ve modified your bio and photos to attract new chat buddies, here are ways to activate the ” Passport ” feature in your Tinder account:
- Tap the “Profile” icon,
- Select “Settings”,
- Select “Location”, and
- Select “Add a new location” and enter the city in the country you want.
- You can only “walk-around” in one foreign city at a time, you cannot combine more than one. However, you can move around as you
- wish. If the user you swipe right to activate the ” Passport ” feature, of course, they can see you too.
Note that before using the ” Passport ” feature, you need to update your version of the Tinder application to version 11.12 on iOS and Android.
