Resident Evil Village The Mercenaries: Gameplay, abilities, customization & more
The Mercenaries, a common mini-game mode, will return in Resident Evil Village. Although the fast-paced and arcade-style origins of the fan-favorite mode would be retained, Capcom has promised a host of new features.
The anticipation for Resident Evil Village’s release is growing, and Capcom is gradually unveiling what the game would have to deliver until its May 7 release.
Although the key plot would be the game’s main priority, players are already looking forward to diving into a bonus feature that has returned from past games in the series.
The Mercenaries is an arcade-style game mode in which players must complete a goal within a set amount of time. Following the April 15 showcase, we already know a lot more of what this fan-favorite side mode has to bring.
Gameplay of Resident Evil Village: The Mercenaries
The aim of The Mercenaries game mode is to cross a certain point within a certain amount of time. When travelling to this place, players may encounter a variety of Resident Evil Village enemies who are all attempting to obstruct their progress.
Players may have to fight their way against these creatures using a variety of firearms and strength upgrades. Since The Mercenaries mode is synchronised, the match is very fast-paced, forcing players to think before they use their ammunition.
Capcom demonstrated some gameplay for the mode during the Resident Evil Village Showcase, as you can see below:
The Mercenaries’ Skills in Resident Evil Village
Despite the return of a classic mode, Capcom also introduced several new special elements to change up the gameplay. This involves abilities that players may choose in order to boost their total strength.
During the demonstration, Capcom showed seven of the abilities available to players in the mode:
Long-distance assaults deal greater harm than close-range attacks.
Adrenaline: HP recovers marginally by using a pistol to attack.
Shotgun Master: Shotguns are more strong.
Corpse Combustor: When enemies are defeated with a gun, they will most certainly ignite.
Max HP rises when you’re well.
heinous Gourmet: Save a small amount of HP after an opponent is vanquished.
Damage taken is reduced because you have thick skin.
While we only know of seven abilities so far, there will undoubtedly be several more in-game when the game is published.
The Mercenaries Store and Customization in Resident Evil Village
The store and arms customization would be another enhancement to The Mercenaries mode. After accumulating enough money, players would be able to buy different guns and customise them.
These updates involve increasing the strength, rate of fire, reload time, and also ammunition ability of a firearm. As a result, it’s safe to assume that there would be a number of difficult choices for players to make in between rounds.
